Below is a general guide. The study team will confirm whether the study is a fit by reviewing your full medical history during screening. Other criteria apply.
The study may be an option if you:
- Are aged 40-80 years old.
- Have been diagnosed with COPD.
- Are a current or former smoker with a history of at least 10 pack-years of cigarette smoking.
- Have experienced at least 1 COPD flare up that required hospitalization for 24 hours, or 2 flare ups that required the use of antibiotics or corticosteroids in the last 12 months. Other criteria apply.

COPD, or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, is a long-term lung condition that makes it harder to breathe over time. It can cause coughing, shortness of breath, and flare-ups where symptoms get worse for a while.
Who can take part in Clearday?
The study may be an option for adults aged 40 to 80 who have been diagnosed with COPD, are current or former smokers with a long smoking history, and have had recent COPD flare-ups. Other criteria apply, and the study team will confirm whether you qualify.
Can I take part if I have asthma?
People who have been diagnosed with asthma may not be able to take part in this study. The study team will review your medical history to confirm whether the study is a fit for you.
Is there any cost to take part?
Qualified participants receive study-related evaluations and care at no cost. Financial compensation for time and travel expenses may also be provided. A member of the study team will explain the details before you decide.
